Supporting structures in design

CONTENT

Intelligent and efficient supporting structures inspire architects as well as engineers. Their design requires a profound understanding of the fundamental principles of structural behaviour as well as using materials appropriately.
Based on design tasks, the structure is examined a natural component of the design process. For this purpose, different aspects such as the approaches to form finding, structural analysing methods and relations between material and the structure will be explored.

OBJECTIVE

The aim is, through extending knowledge as well as testing methods for designing structures, to be able to estimate the influence of structure related planning decisions on the architectural form.
